Stroud Community TV has announced its latest SCTV Awards 2012 winner, revealing that Carers Gloucestershire has scooped the prize for Best Campaign Film with its music video, One in 10.
Winner of the Best Campaign Film: 'One in 10' by Carers Gloucestershire.
Based loosely on the 1981 UB40 hit single of the same name, One in 10 highlights the role of carers, and the fact that one in 10 of the UK adult population has an unpaid caring role.
David Pearson of award-winning Arturi films and a judge for SCTV, said: "The film is a very smart simple presentation that lifts a difficult-to-convey subject and invokes emotion and universality."
Nick Baker, communications manager at Carers Gloucestershire said: "We are delighted that One in 10 has been awarded Best Campaign Film in the Stroud Community TV Awards 2012.
"It is not only an honour to have the hard work involved acknowledged; it is also rewarding that our efforts to find new ways to identify and support carers has proved successful.
"We would like to thank all the carers who took part in the film and the SCTV panel for recognising the issues around the role of unpaid carers."
A very close second in the Best Campaign Film catagory was Suscito Films' A Mother's Anthem - a film produced to raise awareness of the daily issues dealt with by children suffering with Type 1 Diabetes and their families.
